Keith Harris – better known by his stage name Bars Murre, is an upcoming East Coast rapper. Born and raised in Burlington, New Jersey, Keith Harris fell in love with hip hop at an early age. In late 1988, Bars Murre became acquainted with rappers such as Eric B and Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, A Tribe Called Quest, Beastie Boys,and Run DMC. At this point, hip hop became a way for a young Keith to express himself.
Stereotyped as a “white rapper” Bars Murre stepped away from music to peruse other opportunities. For years, he was known to be the funny guy, playing around in the studio and spitting rhymes amongst producers and rappers. In late 08′ friends convinced him to take a shot at the music industry. In early 2009, Bars Murre realized that hip hop would allow him to express himself freely. Late December 09′, Bars Murre prepared to drop his first mix-tape “That’s Why They Don’t Like Me”. Early 2010 was a fresh start for him; officially known as Bars Murre to the world, “That’s Why They Don’t Like Me” became a success online and in the streets within months. Generating more than 15,000 downloads and reaching tons of supporters in the streets. Since early 2010, Bars Murre has dropped 15 videos on youtube.com/barsmurre, datpiff.com, worldstarhiphop.com, vladtv.com, and many other hip hop websites; generating 70,000+ views. As of April 2011, Bars Murre is preparing to drop his second mix tape “Go Lay Down”, summer 2011.
