Kenneth Edward Bailey, better known by his stage name Young Scooter, is an American rapper from Atlanta, GA. Young Scooter was born in Walterboro, SC but moved to Atlanta, GA with his family when he was nine years old. After getting caught trafficking drugs in 2008, Young Scooter decided it was time to get out of the trap game and pursue a career in music. He grew up as a childhood friend of fellow Atlanta rapper Future. He is affiliated with Freebandz record label, 1017 Brick Squad Records and also signed to his own label Black Migo.
Young Scooter started gaining some buzz in 2012 after successfully releasing a series of mixtapes. He gained more attention after collaborating with fellow Atlanta rappers such as Gucci Mane, Future, Waka Flocka Flame and Ralo. He became a household name with the January, 2013 release of his mixtape titled “Street Lottery”. The mixtape gained national attention and was selected “Rap release of the week by SPIN Magazine. The mixtape was also featured in XXL’s Best mixtapes of January, 2013. Young Scooter is known for his freestyle way of rapping, similar to Gucci Mane.
