Consequence Freestyles Over Pharcyde’s Classic ‘Drop’ for New Song

Presented by DJ Enuff x J Cruz

Consequence continues NYC Hot 97’s DJ Enuff and LA Power 106’s J Cruz’s freestyle series “Where Hip Hop Lives.” For the fifth installment, Cons freestyles over the J Dilla produced and Pharcyde classic “Drop.”

“And one white lie/Turned into lots of them/And WiFi is the New Oxygen” the Queens, N.Y. native doesn’t miss a beat. He previously dropped 52 bars over MC Lyte’s classic “Paper Thin” for  “Where Hip Hop Lives” Freestyle Number 4. At the end of the record, Consequence hints that he’s dropping an album sometime soon.

Previously, Con added a verse to Alex Wiley’s popular track “Spaceship II,” which was originally released in 2013 and featured Chance the Rapper, GLC and Chuck Inglish. He also teamed up with Royce 5’9″ for a track titled “All Black Neighborhood.”

You can see Consequence performing with A Tribe Called Quest in the United Kingdom this weekend at Bestival. Listen to the freestyle below.
